Mantes-la-Jolie

As the subprefecture of the department of Yvelines, Mantes-la-Jolie forms an intersection of waterways and pathways. It quickly became a place of trade and exchanges, but also a place of important strategic value on the border between Île-de-France and Normandy. Several landmarks are proof of the town’s rich history, including the Collégiale Notre-Dame, a gothic church from the 12th and 13th centuries, classed as a historical landmark.
