Travel along the river with the writers

Les Andelys

Les Andelys is a town in Eure, nestled in the valley of the river Gambon, in the heart of one of the Seine’s meanders. The banks of the river, located near Les Andelys, are 150 metres tall and belong to the European network of protected areas, in part thanks to their unusual vegetation. The chalk cliffs are among the highest of the valley of the Seine. They form a stunning landscape above the river. The several protected landmarks are a testament to the town’s rich history, including the Château-Gaillard (12th century), whose ruins overlook the valley.
