Jumièges
Jumièges is located in Seine-Maritime, on the right bank of the Seine. The town is part of the regional natural park called Meanders of the Seine. Founded in the 7th century, Jumièges Abbey is one of the oldest and most important Benedictine monasteries in Normandy. Its destruction after the Revolution earned it the title of “most beautiful ruins in France” and the reputation as an open-air location, which had a strong impact on the Romantic painters and writers.
